Swansea - Neath and Port Talbot CAMRA

This website has been created to provide information relating to the CAMPAIGN FOR REAL ALE (CAMRA) branch covering the CITY OF SWANSEA, the GOWER PENINSULA and the SWANSEA VALLEY areas. There is also a Sub branch which covers the towns of NEATH and PORT TALBOT.

We are a group of volunteers, whose aim is to support and most importantly, DRINK real ales in our local area!!
We do this by visiting local pubs, encouraging Landlords to promote real ale and give support to those that already do. We also hold an annual Beer Festival, where the public can drink quality beer from a variety of locations and generally have a good time. We have an active events programme, which includes trips to local breweries. We meet on a regular basis and anyone is welcome to come along and join us.

Forthcoming Events

7th March: Trip to Llanwrtyd Wells. Members travelling independently. The train leaves Swansea at 9:27 a.m. Members meet at the train station at 9:15 a.m. There is train back to Swansea departing LW at 8:13 p.m., getting into Swansea 10:14 p.m.

16th March: Branch Meeting. The Wig, St. Helens Road, SA1 4BL. Meeting begins at 8 p.m. This will include An introduction to CAMRA on the web, including how to use CAMRA Announce and CAMRA Discuss. If you want to participate, please bring details of your email address.

20th April: Beer Festival meeting. The Queens Hotel, Swansea Marina, SA1 1TY. Meeting begins at 8 p.m. This will be the second of our bi-monthly meetings for the 2009 Festival. As always, we will need all the help we can get in the run up to the great event on the August Bank Holiday weekend, so please come along!

18th May: Branch Meeting. The Village Inn, The Precinct (behind the shops on the main road), Killay, SA2 7BA. Meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Date TBA: Trip to the White Hart, Machen and the Plough and Harrow, Monknash. Details to be confirmed at the March branch meeting.
