Forthcoming Meetings

• Monday 20^th February 2012: The first Beer Festival Meeting for SBBF2012 will be held at the Park Inn, Mumbles.
• Monday 20^th February 2012: Also on the same date, there is a meeting of the Neath sub-branch at the Crown and Sceptre in Cadoxton, at 8pm. The meeting will consider the sub-branch's POTY for 2012.
• Monday 19^th March 2012: The next Branch Meeting will be held at the No Sign Bar, Wind Street at 8pm.
• Monday 16^th April 2012: The second SBBF2012 Planning Meeting will be held at the Bank Statement, also in Wind Street, at 8pm.

• Thursday 23^rd February 2012: Gower Brewery, Greyhound, Llanrhidian: A visit to the new brewery based at the Greyhound, departing 7pm from the Glynn Vivian, returning from the Greyhound at 10pm: contact the events officer (details below) for more information.

• Saturday 25^th February 2012: Ancient Briton POTY Presentation. The Ancient Briton is winner of the POTY for the South and Mid Wales region, and will receive its certificate to mark this at 3pm.

Please let us know if you have any news on pubs in and around the Swansea area. Recent items include:

• A New Brewery has opened in the Carmarthenshire area. Called the Kite Brewery, it's based at Gorslas, near Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire. Its range includes a traditional 4% bitter, which is already proving popular!

Pubs of the Year 2011

Congratulations to the Railway, Upper Killay, which has been voted the Swansea Branch's Pub of the Year for 2011, narrowly edging out the King Arthur, Reynoldston. The Railway succeeds the Potters Wheel, which was the Branch's 2010 Pub of the Year for Swansea.

The Ancient Briton, Penycae, Swansea, is the Neath sub-branch POTY for 2011; which makes it the third year running and is a marvelous achievement! So many congratulations to them.
